FORGIVE YOURSELF TO ENHANCE MIND-BODY-EMOTIONAL WELLNESS
 

Q: how do I get over my OWN fears that if I forgive my actions, I’ll continue with the bad behavior?

A: Most of us have this fear as we’ve all said or done things we later regretted. We keep beating ourselves up, telling ourselves how bad, stupid or insensitive we are, as if punishing ourselves is going to make us a better person.

I used to heap tons of blame on myself for many things. From eating an extra piece of cake to causing emotional pain via dating breakups, I chastised myself and let the guilt times roll.

As I did emotional release work on myself for various physical conditions, I found years of self-unforgiveness causing everything from joint inflammation to skin bumps to back pain. I cleared my unforgiveness and the conditions healed.

Forgiving ourselves for making unwise choices won’t open the doors to making those choices again. It will bring more peace, joy and spiritual-emotional-physical healing to us.

UPPER BACK PAIN CAN INDICATE TRAPPED EMOTIONS:  The reverse side of the heart, a painful upper back may be storing repressed fears of abandonment, rejection, failed relationships (love or work), shame, guilt, rage and resentment. Pain on the left side may indicate fears about love; the right side may store fears about work or money.

My left upper back ached for years before I learned how to do emotional release work. Doctors, LMTs and chiropractors provided only temporary relief.

One day I took the time to find each layer of fear causing the pain and releasing each one. Some layers involved relationship heartaches, wanting to “turn my back” toward the painful times, and grief over family members who had passed.

When my muscle-testing indicated no more fears causing the pain existed, the painful upper back ache subsided and eventually disappeared. A bonus was that I could think of past heartbreaks and no hurtful emotions surfaced. I had forgiven everyone involved and myself.
