Everyone procrastinates. Don't beat yourself up.
Some people enjoy the adrenaline rush they feel as they race to meet a deadline. Others worry themselves into a sleepless frenzy, vowing they'll never procrastinate again... but they do, and feel guilty and stressed.
Bottom line: we procrastinate to avoid the pain we think that a task will bring: fear of failure or consequences to successfully finishing the task, then getting more work added to our to-do list.
We may fear physical pain the day after working out, and procrastinate about exercise to avoid sore muscles.
